Fourteen shows from across the world have been chosen to take part in FIBA 2020, its 13th edition. The international selection is made up of shows and directors from Argentina, Germany, Brazil, France, India, Uruguay, Scotland, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Chile, Canada and Colombia. All of them share a common theme: the individual and collective body.
One of the main stagings will come from the hand of italian director Pippo Delbono, renowned figure of contemporary italian theatre. Delbono, who will also teach a masterclass, is a poet of the stage who works with and in the margins. His theatre takes inspiration from eastern traditions and from his previous work with Odin Teatret and Pina Bausch. During FIBA he will present La Gioia in Teatro Coliseo, a journey through the most extreme feelings: anguish, sorrow, happiness and enthusiasm, merged with the magic of the circus.
Another one of the gems of this edition will be the presence of large scale marionette theatre by french company Les grandes personnes, with their show Gigantes (Giants), especially produced for their Latin American tour.
