Open call for FIBA ​​workshops

You can now access online the application forms to the following workshops: ‘The future is fluid’ by Julie Beauvais, ‘Oral transmission’ by Marina Quesada and Carolina Tironi (Consorcio Feminista) and ‘Dance for the over 55’s’ by Igor Calonge.

FIBA and Ciudanza have a lot to offer in this 2020 edition. As well as the vast array of shows on offer, there is also the opportunity to take part in some unique and exciting workshops, the details of which are listed below:

Swiss artist and director Julie Beauvais, who will present her piece ‘Orlando’ (based on the novel by Virginia Wolf) will lead the workshop entitled ‘The future is fluid’ which offers a technical and interdisciplinary approach to artistic creation through experimentation.

Marina Quesada y Carolina Tironi, from the ‘Consorcio Feminista’ collective, will lead ‘Oral transmission’, a devising workshop that will culminate with a presentation at the festival’s closure, Maraton Abasto. It’s aimed at dancers and performers between 18 and 78 years of age and it will offer devising tools used in dance, theatre and performance.

The dance workshop for over 55s will be led by renowned spanish choreographer Igor Calonge and is aimed at anyone above 55 years old who would like to try contemporary dance. Participants will be taught basic concepts of physical mobility through movement and, starting from free movement and simple choreography they will also have the opportunity to construct their own choreographic phrases.
