The Abasto Marathon is back to bring to a close the 2020 Festival Internacional de Buenos Aires, FIBA. A night to rediscover the public space and the theatres of one of the neighbourhoods with the richest cultural offer in the City. The Festival takes over the mythical neighbourhood of Abasto and invites locals to enjoy unique experiences and artistic performances out on the streets, which will be transformed into a big open-air theatre. Bars, hair salons, metro stations, museums, large houses, cultural venues and balconies will serve as the stage for a night filled with music, visual arts, dance, theatre, performances, and a lot more.

Guardia Vieja y Mario Bravo
Come and dance all night long outdoors wearing headphones, in a party where nobody else but you will listen to the music. With DJ Ronan Núñez.

Guardia Vieja y Bulnes
Two acrobats, a trampoline and plenty of Holi powder create a zero-gravity environment in which artists seem to float in the air.

In Abasto, there stories that can’t be kept a secret. They say the only thing a flower shop, a hair salon and a laundromat have in common is the sidewalk. Three spaces divided by a wall that is about to collapse.

A dancing performance recreating the city’s summer spirit. Audiences will be invited to participate in a 4-hour experience that simulates the beach, the swimming pool, the terrace and the party.

Eleven bodies are brought together into the same space to recreate the confinement which they were forced to undergo without giving any consent: the TV.

Explores the powerful, fascinating and dangerous aspects of kissing in public. The street as a place to build new social imaginaries. There, every kiss is a political act. This project is the first Staging Workshop of the Abasto Marathon.
