The german feminist collective Henrike Iglesias arrives at FIBA

A show that provokes and experiments with pornography to reclaim its sexuality, subjected, until now to the guardianship of the patriarchy.

The german feminist-queer theatre collective Henrike Iglesias, based in Berlin and Basel, will present their piece ‘OH MY’ on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 in the Martín Coronado stage of Teatro San Martin. This is a provocative show that experiments with pornography as a tool for empowerment: the characters are on a mission to reclaim their sexuality, and, in the process, they question taboos and shame with the goal of living proudly in their own bodies.

Questions like ‘why is it that in our extremely sexualized world, female sexuality in particular is still influenced by guilt, shame and silence?’ find a (possible) answer in the piece. The show starts with the audience putting headphones on through which a female voice describes feelings and speaks, for example, about ‘the thighs of the person sitting beside you’. Then the four performers appear with their erotic plastic costumes which they will wear whilst filming quasi-pornographic clips containing all the imaginable clichés.
