The Government of the City of Buenos Aires works in coordination with different experts and civil society organisations to achieve more and better results regarding climate action.

Advisory Council of the Environmental Protection Agency (APRA)

The Government of the City of Buenos Aires formulates the public policies related to Law 3871, on climate change adaptation and mitigation, together with the Advisory Council on Climate Change Advisory Council on Climate Change, which is made up of representatives of the scientific community and civil society.

Advisory Council on Environment and Sustainable Development

Similarly, the City is assisted in the planning, development and promotion of other environmental public policies by the Advisory Council on Environment and Sustainable Development, formed in 2020 and composed of more than 20 civil society organizations. Fridays for Future, Amartya, Health Save Movement, Seamos Bosques, Aclimatando, Ecohouse, Conciencia, Un Árbol para mi Vereda, Jóvenes por el Clima, Unión Vegana, Isla Verde, CICODI, Manos Verdes, Ocean 0 km, Extinction Rebellion, Planeta Sustentate, Agenda Ambiental, FINCA are part of this space.

Strategic Planning Council (COPE)

COPE is a multisectoral and consultative body made up of more than 200 organisations, which periodically proposes agreed strategic plans that provide the basis for the development of State policies in the city of Buenos Aires. Its creation is agreed upon in article 19 of the Constitution of the City and regulated by Law 310/99. The Buenos Aires 2035 Participatory Strategic Plan has five strategic axes, among them "Ecological Buenos Aires".

Urban Environmental Plan Council (COPUA)

COPUA, composed of representatives from different areas of government and responsible for seeking solutions to common urban-environmental problems, promotes and coordinates consultation and participation instances with different stakeholders of interest for the preparation and monitoring of the Urban Environmental Plan of the City of Buenos Aires.

Forum to Fight Climate Change

Created by Ley N° 5613 it is an open participation instance for all the people who inhabit the City. It is held annually and is convened by the Executive Branch, the various political blocs of the Legislative Branch and the External Advisory Council on Climate Change.
